About Deena

From a young age Deena was climbing everything, and it is only fitting that she has found her way into the air. She has trained as a gymnast, acrobat, aerialist and most extensively as a dancer with the Colorado Ballet, Boston Ballet, the Henry Jurriens School of Dance in Amsterdam and holds a BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC. Deena has performed as an aerialist touring nationally with the Cirque Le Masque shows, Evolution and Carnival, in venues such as New York City's Webster Hall, Galapagos Arts Space and at the Clemente Soto Velez Theater, in Boston's Clubs Avalon and Felt and the Cyclorama, with Pendulum Aerial Dance Theatre in Portland, Oregon, at the Dell'Arte School For Physical Theatre in Northern California, as well as Mohegan Sun and other such venues.

Deena has taught aerials all over the country, including Circus Smirkus, Circus Warehouse in NYC, for the Professional Training Program at the New England Center for Circus Arts, and the South Florida Circus School in Miami. Deena also holds both Yoga and GYROTONIC® certifications, and is the Creator and Artistic Director of MOTH Poetic Circus. You can currently find her teaching for the Professional Training Program at Frequent Flyers in beautiful Boulder, CO.
